If you seen my posts on social media, you’ll know I’ve been up to a few things this week – including filming the freshers start at my uni, and having an evening with some owls.
Here are just a few photographs I took during our evening over at Rosliston Forestry Centre. Although it wasn’t really open when we went, it looked like a cracking place to visit. And only 10 minutes down the road, definitely somewhere we’ll visit again.
Meet ‘Stellar’ the Little Owl.

And ‘Dozer’ the Burrowing Owl.
The classic Barn Owl.
Something I hadn’t seen before. A Barn Owl with dark colouring.

This week saw the staggered arrival of the new students. Each day we walked around the halls capturing a snapshot of the welcome the Loughborough community gives. The weather really picked up for us, giving us sunny days, and happy move-ins. It’s the first time I’ve shot on prime lenses for an entire shoot, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the results. The mobility and energy you get from a shoulder-mounted camera and lens is perfect for these videos.
My colleague James kindly took this photograph.
