This has been a week of two halves. Writing a blog at the end of the week seems strange as you are forced to become reflective, if for no other reason than it feels like ages ago – at times not even part of the same week. With time spent in Loughborough working, and free time spent with Helen, my life often feels fragmented.
We had such a fun morning walking around and discovering Burton on Monday; finding everything from riverbanks and marshes, through to woods and trails. As we stopped off for a picnic by the river we contemplated our future in Burton.
The latter part of the bank holiday was spent with my big brother and his family. Lovely to see them all, with the added bonus of a beautiful bbq.
This week also held a very special date. It was of course my ever beautiful wife Helen’s birthday. For someone who doesn’t really celebrate birthdays, it’s always great to see her enjoy the little things, enjoy opening presents, and eating cake.
The end of this week has been tainted with illness. It’s been hard to do much so I’ve been rather sedentary. Here’s hoping it passes soon.
