With today being my birthday, and new adventures on the horizon, I thought it would be a great time to start a new creative project.
I’ll be posting weekly, hopefully with photographs and videos to document my next year’s adventures.
For me a yearly sign it’s my birthday.
I’ve had a lovely weekend back home with my parents, brother and my nephews celebrating my birthday. I’ve of course eaten well (and too much), and received fantastic presents from my family. They know me well, so have got me some vinyl, cookbooks, cheffy kitchen tools, and sweets. I also got myself a new camera as birthday present, which I’ll aim to use for these weekly posts.
My love of vintage cameras lives on in this new camera, which is a step away from my DSLR, but has the charm and image characteristics of an old film camera. Although no interchangeable lens, its got a great f2 lens, and all the manual dials I’ve come to rely on.
With a weekend of family and food I feel very blessed. I’ll be moving away for my new job and will miss the closeness of it all. This is yet another reason for this new project – something to keep my family and friends updated, and something to push me to explore and interact with the area, in addition to reinvigorating my creative skills.
I hope you enjoy looking at my photographs, and put up with my writing skills.
See you next week for the next installment.
